Electricity powers nearly every part of modern life, from the lights in our homes to the businesses, farms, and emergency services that keep our communities running. At Clark County REMC, we know reliable power doesn’t happen by chance. It happens because of the dedicated lineworkers who build, maintain, and restore the electric system our members rely on every day.
Each year, electric cooperatives across the country recognize these highly skilled professionals on National Lineworker Appreciation Day. On April 13, 2026, Clark County REMC proudly celebrates the men and women who work behind the scenes to keep the lights on.
When storms roll through Southern Indiana and outages occur, our lineworkers see more than a problem; they see a call to serve. Whether it’s late at night, during a weekend, or in the middle of severe weather, our crews respond quickly and work long hours in challenging conditions to safely restore power as soon as possible.
What makes their work especially meaningful is that our lineworkers serve the very communities they call home. They raise their families here, support local businesses, and understand firsthand how important electricity is to daily life. Restoring power isn’t just part of their job; it’s helping neighbors.
Clark County REMC was founded on the cooperative principle of neighbors helping neighbors, and our lineworkers live out that mission every day. They also extend that spirit beyond our service territory through mutual aid, assisting other electric cooperatives after major storms and disasters so power can be restored to communities faster.
Linework is demanding and often dangerous, which is why safety, teamwork, and training guide every task our crews perform.
On April 13, 2026, we invite our members and community to join us in thanking the lineworkers who power Clark County REMC. Their dedication, professionalism, and service are the backbone of our cooperative.
Thank you, lineworkers, for keeping our communities connected.
