What to Expect
An installer will knock on your door to replace your meter. Meters will be replaced by a Clark County REMC lineman or a contractor from Advanced Meter Services.
As long as we can access your meter, you do not have to be home during the installation.
Installers will first conduct a safety check. If any issues are found we will postpone installation until the hazards can be addressed. A door hanger will be left for you and someone from REMC will be in touch to discuss options.
You will experience a brief outage while we swap out the old meter and install the new.
After your new meter is installed, a notice will be left on your door confirming that the work is complete.
How to Prepare
1. Clear Access to the Meter
- The installer will need access to your meter.
- Please remove any debris or obstructions.
- If your meter is behind a locked gate, call us to schedule your upgrade.
2. Update Your Contact Info
- Be sure we have your latest contact information on file in case we need to reach you.
- This will make your meter upgrade go as smoothly as possible.
