Your students are invited to participate in the free, statewide Wired to Create Student Art Contest, where they can showcase their creativity for a chance to win up to $300. This year’s theme encourages students to create artwork that highlights what keeps our state moving forward — from people and places to industries and everyday moments.
CONTEST HIGHLIGHTS
This contest fits easily into classroom projects while encouraging creativity and real-world connections.
- Students compete in four grade divisions: K–2, 3–5, 6–8, and 9–12
- First ($200), second ($100), and third ($50) place winners are selected in each division
- A Best of Show winner receives an additional $100 award
- Students may use a wide range of art materials and styles
- Open to all Indiana students in grades K–12 (public, private, or homeschooled)
HOW TO ENTER
Submit artwork and view full rules at goiec.org/artcontest
- Students can enter individually, or teachers may submit student work for their class or group.
- Entries must be submitted online or postmarked by March 5, 2027.
THEME OVERVIEW

Students can interpret this theme in many ways. Here are a few ideas to get started:
- Activities, traditions, or moments that shape Indiana communities
- Community helpers (lineworkers, farmers, teachers, first responders, etc.)
- Local landscapes, agriculture, or businesses
- Everyday life in their community
- How energy and electricity support daily life
